What is the Formist MCP server
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call tools from an outside service during a conversation. Formist exposes a streamable HTTP MCP server, secured by OAuth 2.0, at https://api.formist.ai/mcp.
Formist is an MCP server. Connect it once and your AI gains every Formist skill.
It is a sustainability specific AI agent, not a general purpose connector: every skill it exposes fills a CBAM, GHG Protocol, CSRD/ESRS, CDP, EU Taxonomy or other sustainability framework from the documents and data a team already has.
Connect your AI in under a minute
The same steps run inside Formist’s own "Add to my AI" dialog. Four assistants, each with their own setup:
- 1. Open Settings → Connectors In Claude Desktop or claude.ai, go to Settings → Connectors in the sidebar.
- 2. Click "Add custom connector" Scroll to the bottom of the Connectors list and click the Add custom connector button.
- 3. Fill in Name and Remote MCP server URL Name: Formist · URL:
- 4. Click Add Authorize when prompted; Formist tools will appear in chat. The same connector works for Claude Desktop and the Claude web app.
- 1. Run this command in any project
- 2. Verify Run claude mcp list, Formist should show as connected.
- 1. Open Cursor Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server Or edit ~/.cursor/mcp.json directly with the snippet below.
- 2. Restart Cursor Reload the window or quit and reopen. Formist tools will appear in the chat tool list.
- 1. Requires ChatGPT Plus / Pro / Enterprise Open ChatGPT → Settings → Connectors → Add a custom connector.
- 2. Paste the MCP URL
- 3. Authorize ChatGPT will open a browser tab for OAuth, sign in to Formist to grant access.
