Shipment and site emissions, measured, not estimated

Formist ties ISO 14083 transport emissions, IMO shipping compliance and site-level carbon screening to the record your logistics and operations teams already run, so a customs filing, a customer’s Scope 3 request and a regulator’s audit all read from one traceable number.

What slows a logistics or infrastructure team down

Scope 3 transport emissions calculated by hand, shipment by shipment, across road, rail, air and sea.

IMO DCS, CII and EU MRV deadlines landing on the same calendar as the voyage itself.

A product’s embodied carbon stuck behind a bill of materials nobody has time to screen.

A customer’s Scope 3 team asking for a source document the emissions number was never linked to.

The skills it carries for this sector

Each skill is a pre-trained workflow for one regulated output. Upload your own shipment, voyage or bill-of-materials data and Formist fills the official file, not a summary of it.

ISO 14083

Calculates transport-chain emissions by mode from your shipment records and fills the ISO 14083 SFC CAS Emissions Report, across road, rail, air, sea and multimodal legs.

IMO Shipping

Calculates CII rating, EEXI and EU MRV transport work from voyage data, and files the IMO DCS annual report and SEEMP Part III.

LCA Screening

Runs a Tier-1 cradle-to-gate life cycle assessment from your bill of materials and returns a product carbon footprint with a hotspot breakdown.

Frequently asked questions

Can Formist calculate Scope 3 transport emissions for my shipments?

Yes. Formist reads freight shipment records, routing data and fuel or energy consumption, or GLEC v3 defaults when that is not available, to compute per-shipment and aggregated transport-chain emissions by mode, in compliance with ISO 14083:2023.

Does Formist track vessel-level compliance under IMO rules?

Yes. Formist reads noon reports, bunker delivery notes and voyage logs to compute fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, CII rating, EEXI and EU MRV transport work, and exports the IMO DCS annual report, the CII rating certificate and the SEEMP Part III plan.

Can I get a product carbon footprint from a bill of materials, not a full LCA?

Yes. Formist runs a Tier-1 screening life cycle assessment straight from bill-of-materials data, following ISO 14067 and ISO 14040 principles, and returns a cradle-to-gate product carbon footprint with a hotspot breakdown.

What format does the emissions data come out in?

A filled SFC CAS Emissions Report for transport, an IMO DCS or CII workbook for shipping, or a product carbon footprint spreadsheet for LCA screening, each matching the exact template the regulator or customer expects.

Do I need to replace my TMS or voyage-reporting system?

No. Formist reads what your transport management system, noon reports or BOM exports already produce; nothing about how shipments or vessels are tracked today has to change.

How is the data kept traceable for an audit?

Every figure in the output carries the document it was read from, an invoice, a bunker delivery note, a bill-of-materials line, so a customer’s Scope 3 team or an IMO verifier can trace a number back to its source.
